Whether you are a visitor to the Yorkshire Dales National Park or a resident, using public transport will allow you to get around and enjoy the special qualities of this precious landscape in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly manner.
Rail
The main Yorkshire Dales area is covered by two National Rail services - the Leeds-Morecambe line and the famous Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line, which has a service running several times daily operated by Northern Rail, plus a Summer Sunday Dales rail service from Lancashire.
Bus
There are many bus services within the Yorkshire Dales which run throughout the year, providing links between the main towns and villages and the surrounding area. These are supplemented by extra services during the summer period, which mainly operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Make sure you check the timetable for both out and inbound journeys.
Full details are available on the Dalesbus website.
