This section of the website showcases 18 of the best places to see wildlife in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The majority of these are existing nature reserves which are managed or owned by a range of conservation organisations and have existing public rights of way passing through them. Many of these are designated as Local Nature Reserves (LNR) or National Nature Reserves (NNR). In addition, all sites have some form of interpretation materials. These may range from traditional on-site information boards to electronic leaflets, webpages, audio and geocaching trails. We would like to encourage everyone to visit the sites using public transport where possible.
For more information about the sites and the wildlife that you may see there, simply click on the symbols on the interactive map below or the site names in the left hand column of this webpage.
