Black Sheep Brewery Boots & Beer Walking Festival

Combining great walks, beautiful countryside, fantastic beer and excellent entertainment in and around Wensleydale; what better way is there to spend a long weekend in early September?

The Dales Festival of Food and Drink

More than 12,000 visitors attend over the first May bank holiday weekend, experiencing local food at its best. The event includes a food hall, real ale festival, farming displays, demonstrations and guest speakers.

Dentdale Music and Beer Festival

A weekend of live music from some the best acoustic acts. Over 25 acts, from folks to blues and jazz to country, all washed down with finely crafted local and Scottish ales. Usually held the last weekend of June across a choice of venues throughout Dentdale.

Grassington Dickensian Festival

At Christmas time Grassington is been transported back to the time of Charles Dickens. See the Christmas lights, the village square and the streets transformed into a traditional market with shopkeepers, villagers and visitors dressed in Victorian costume. Running for thirty years, the first Festival is usually held on the first three Saturdays of December.

Festival of Books and Drama (The Write Idea)

Sedbergh, the only official book town in England, holds an annual Festival of Books and Drama in September. A selection of writers talk about their latest books and the town’s book shops open their doors so you can buy them plus many more popular or unique titles.

Flowers of the Dales Festival

Running from early spring through to autumn, the Flowers of the Dales Festival includes a fantastic range of events and activities, from photography workshops to guided walks, to help you access the National Park’s spectacular wildflower habitats.

Grassington Festival

Annual arts and performance festival now in its 30th year - internationally renowned performers take to the stage while the village buzzes with workshops and fringe events during than last of two weeks of June.

Ingleton Overground Underground

The festival celebrates the unique landscape of the Ingleton area and promises to offer a host of traditional and unexpected ways to experience the landscape, both above and below the ground. A family friendly weekend over the final bank holiday in May.

Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival

Each year, for one week mid-August, hundreds of scarecrows holiday in the delightful Dales village of Kettlewell. Human visitors try to find them all, solving clues and puzzles as they hunt.

Swaledale Festival

This festival comprises over 40 ticketed performances as well as other free events offering classical, choral, jazz, folk and world music in intimate Dales venues plus gallery works and exhibitions. Usually held over the first two weeks of June.
