Examination

The appointed Inspector is David Vickery DipT & CP MRTPI. He will conduct the Examination to determine whether the Housing Development Plan is sound.

The Examination Programme Officer is Claire Hodgson. She will organise the administration of the Examination and works independently of the National Park Authority, reporting directly to the Inspector.

During the course of the examination it has become apparent that a number of changes (modifications) are likely to be necessary in order to make the Plan ‘sound’ (justified, effective and consistent with national policy), and legally compliant. Most of these changes have come from the Authority but the Inspector has also submitted a small number of modifications. These significant soundness changes (modifications) are listed below, along with the minor changes:

Comments are invited on these changes and should sent the programme officer, Claire Hodgson via email (claire.hodgson@yorkshiredales.org.uk) or posted to her at the address above by the deadline of Tuesday 10 April 2012. Please note that this is the final stage of the public consultation stage and the Inspector can accept comments on the changes only. Comments received during previous consultation stages have been and will be taken into account in the plan making process.

For information about the post hearing changes, contact Peter Stockton on 01969 652334 or email peter.stockton@yorkshiredales.org.uk.

Amended Sections 20 to 23 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase 2004 come into force on 15 January 2012 as a result of the Localism Act 2011. Please see letters relating to the effect of this in relation to this Examination under the link below:

The Hearing Sessions have now been completed. The Inspector currently anticipates delivering his 'fact check' report on Friday 20 April 2012. This report is delivered to the Authority for it to fact check for errors such as typing errors and inconsistencies prior to the delivery of the final report. It may be delayed by any slippage to the timetable or the issue of new government policy:

Within this timetable, the Authority has a 'Homework List' from the Inspector, available below:
