Swaledale Outdoor Club The Road cycling Section of the Swaledale Outdoor Club provides a full programme of events. Rides vary from beginners jaunts to seriously arduous trips for the committed cyclist! During the long evenings of the summer months shorter scenic rides offer a perfect end to anyone’s day.
The Mountain Biking Section has weekend rides to suit a variety of experience, fitness and skill levels. During the summer months we also have local evening rides and in the winter we’ve started night rides for an added challenge.

Craven Cycling Festival A three day festival of cycling based in the historic market town of Settle close to the Three Peaks, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. There are mountain bike rides, road cycling challenges, displays and more. See www.cravencyclingfestival.org.uk.
Etape du Dales The premier road cycling challenge in the Yorkshire Dales is a real test of fitness and determination. This is a very hilly 110 mile challenge event held each May. More details from www.etapedudales.co.uk/index.htm
White Rose Classic The White Rose Classic is an exciting new event promoted by British Cycling, Yorkshire. Run along the same lines as many European cyclo-sportive events, it offers three routes which take you through some of the toughest terrain the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, with the epic 170km long route taking in the climb of Fleets Moss. There are three distances availble starting at 85km, then 130km and finally the 170km epic which includes 3190m of climbing. See www.whiteroseclassic.co.uk
